The Gate
Reviews
It's been a while since we went here for anything other than lunch, but after going last night for dinner it won't be long until we're back. The service was excellent - our waitress could not have been more friendly and attentive and made some great recommendations on our wine and mains. I had the pork belly which was incredible, and seemed to be the stand out dish at our table - so much so, my partner kept digging in to mine. The other dishes were also very good. While this will still be our safe bet for a good pub-grub lunch, we're looking forward to going back for dinner.
The Gate Bar and Bistro is always a "good find" The food and the service is especially tasty and good led by Manager Kallum Bond and his accomplished Team of wonderful young people. They look after you and your Guests very well without being" in your face" What more do we need for a successful night out? Great food and great, friendly and sincere service? We were there, again, last night for a birthday celebration and the night could not have been better. The Owner David is planning a new venue at Wanneroo. What a treat the people that live North of of the river have coming? Well done and thanks heaps.
Refused my wife and I service in the main restaurant and garden bar as I was wearing "work clothes" clean mind you just out of washer, They wanted us to go out the back to a sports bar, obviously all tradies are sports crazed yobbos. What other groups to they discriminate against? avoid avoid
i was only in here the other night with my family for dinner, must say its a beautiful venue and good food. Though what did disturb me was the lady which must of been incharge spoke to another staff member. I've never quiet witnessed this before but i can understand why alot of them dont smile in the restaurant! but other then that i really did enjoy our family night.
Once again the food in the restaurant was rubbish, the food tasted like it was from packets bought at coles. Myself and partner went to the Gate for an early dinner with our 4month old daughter and got a snooty remark from the women directing us to our seats "we have nowhere to seat you with a pram" the restaurant was almost empty. I strongly urge you all to drive on past The Gate you'll get nicer service and food from Mcdonalds.
