On our trip to Australia from Scotland, my family and I visited the RSL club,I was in the process of removing my hat at the door (as i always do ), when an elderly gentleman nearly had a heart attack when he saw it on my head, Quite rude and abrupt really. I put my hat in my pocket, and pointed out 4 other people sitting down to a meal wearing hats..???. when I pointed it out, he marched off into the gents toilet. In a huff i suppose. Food took ages to come.Don't really seem interested in food side of things. Will I go back ? nah , old guy needs to learn manners.
My experience and first visit to the RSL was a positive experience. However after contacting the RSL and advising that we had lunch on 3rd january resulting in gastro and being promised a call back which never eventuated I can only say this is not good enough !! In response to response from management I definitely know that you need to test the actual fish (product) that we ate . No-one ever agrees that its food poisoning as its hard to establish. I though as your reputation comes partially from word of mouth you should be interested in your customers experiences. I was hoping as a good will gesture the RSL would refund at least one meal. We had a table of 2 adults, I toddler and a baby. The baby ate the roast and was not sick. The 2 adults and toddler ate fish and we were all sick. Go figure. Just realised for management to 'test the product' we ate on Jan 3rd when I didn't contact the RSL till Thursday 8th January the product (fish) was obviously frozen which really says it all.
Just love the P.I RSL. Great place to take the whole family. Food is always of a high quality. Sitting next to the open fire in the lounge is one of my favourite places on the Island
Visited for lunch with a friend, great service, helpful staff and really good food at good value. So good I decided to become a member. Will be back.
Frequent visitor to RSL. Most of the time staff is friendly and service is quick. Food is sustantial. Menu could be varied a little more. Overall a pleasant place for a quick, reasonably priced meal.
