My wife and I dine at Carmels regularly and it never dissapoints. The Oyster platters are among the best I have ever tasted and we feel comfortable being adventurous with our meal every time and trying something different because it always tastes good! Nice relaxed atmosphere too. I highly recommend Carmels.
Today we celebrated my Dad's 70th birthday at Carmel's, we had 50+ people in attendance and all thoroughly enjoyed their meals and said they were superb. The staff were friendly and courteous, nothing was too much bother, everyone was kept watered and the meals were very prompt given the large group we had, which was somewhat unexpected. Flawless execution by Carmel and her team, well done! Would not hesitate to recommend to the casual diner or the function planner
For all the rave and the dollars, you'd expect better service. Waited over an hour for food, watched tables seated after us eating before us, and Carmel herself made a big loud embrassing deal out of someone asking for small changes to a dish due to allergies. After 5minutes of asking around in the kitchen our waitress returned with the news they couldnt dice tomatoes for use on a pizza instead of somethind else our guest was allergic to, because they didnt have time. How long does dicing a tomato take? They coulda brought me a knife and I'd have done it. In the end they seemed to have all the time in the world because our food took forever and a lot of it had cooled. Heard ao many good things about it, and I get that some days are just poo, but the staff were my main beef that day. No one wants to humilated because of their allergies, and no one wants the staff giving you attitude. If it wasn't a birthday gathering, I'd have just left way before the food eventually came.
The food was amazing. Nice and relaxing atmosphere and perfect service. We'll above my expectations.
