We were extremely disappointed with our booking on 21 December, 2014. The booking was made for 6pm. Sunday evening a Birthday celebration for our daughter, the booking was made in the name of Margaret Marler and I stressed this was a Birthday dinner; come the end of dinner no Birthday celebration was brought to our table it was pointed out to the waitress and her words were oh, "yes" it had been noted beside your booking I forgot" she was far too pre-occupied, how sad for us as a family looking forward to our daughters Birthday Dinner.... Margaret Marler.

We arrived as a group of three, and almost instantly I regretted not being a group of 6 or 8. The wonderfully relaxed nature of the place gets complimented perfectly by just the most divine take on fresh produce to share. We did the lamb, because it was our first time, and it really is pretty special. We had a selection of smaller things to start, and everything was so good we stuck it out for desert, and it too was like the place itself - nothing too fussy at all, just great delicious tastes that look pretty good, and still allow you to have a good long chat with your dinner companions. I will definitely come back, its completely my type of vibe of fancy food - no need for the pomp that comes with so many other places of its calibre. But next time I will bring a bigger group so we can all dive into the share plates and try a few more items.

The lamb is the perennial favourite here. Come hungry! The food comes in a decent serving size. This is a great place for tables of 3 or more diners. An intimate dinner for two is a bit strained with the ambient noise (it's a very large, open dining area and the smaller tables are placed very close together). Every time I have eaten here, a waiter breaks a glass. Sometimes they serve the wine in the corresponding wine glass, other times they have used small white wine glasses for Pinot Noir! I guess it has to do with how fast they get cleaned and what's in circulation. The wine list is interesting and worth exploring the full bottle selection.

Please Please Please change the menu.... Went to Melbourne Cup again this year previously back in 2012 but I am so over having the same set menu, Seafood casserole of total mush and tasteless roast chicken, the same with the desserts the same OLD menu chocolate and bomb Alaska, seriously it was just appalling I couldn't eat the dessert or anything else for that matter the best part of the meal was the bread, so pretty much I paid $150 for a glass of Tattinger and bread, NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! Give it a HUGE miss clearly Matt has too many hands in too many pies and the end result is clearly suffering and showing it was just total RUBBISH!!!

This place opened in 2012 and I don't believe I took my time getting here! One of my favourite places to come to now! Lovely service, lovely food and location spot on! I had the fish with gnocchi, my boyfriend had the steak and side of bone marrow Yumm, as for the hand cut chips not great came out second time still not great. Also do book ahead if you going on a Saturday night!
