Coffee Alchemy
Reviews
Hands down the best coffee in Sydney. After a delicious pho da biet lunch at the main street of Marrickville, my partner and I decided to explore the cafes around this area. The Coffee Alchemy happened to be the nearest one. When we arrived, we were surprised by how low-profile this little cafe look. Unlike many coffee shops on a Saturday, it was not crowded at all. Being a die-hard Campos Coffee (Newtown only) fan, I made my usual order with the cashier. There was only 1 size for all coffee, reasonably priced at $3.50. My soy mocha soon arrived, I took a sip quickly. To my surprise, after my obsession with Campos Newtown for (approx.) 5 years, I might have found my new favorite. The temperature was right on spot. The coffee tasted smooth, not too bitter and not too sweet. To me - it was a perfect cup of mocha. Although there had been some bad reviews online regarding the cafe's hospitality, the customer service was not too bad on the day I went. Overall a very pleasant experience, and will definitely return for the coffee.
Sparkling coffee! Iced, fizzy coffee! That, the great selection of single origin beans, the delicious house blends, the breadth of knowledge of the baristas, the passion of the owner. Addison Rd is an odd location for such a destination. Not in most people's way, but worth visiting on a regular basis. Good to the core.
Coffee: 5. One of the rare 5's in Sydney. They only do coffee and beans. Always a variety of origins and blends. Simple interior, not hipster or swanky.
go, there, go there, go there. By far my favourite roaster in the inner west. Amazing blends, single origins and exotic varieties expertly roasted by genuine coffee scientists..! Their opening time are a bit of a challenge so make sure to get their before 3pm on a sat (not open sundays). For hot summer days make sure to try on of their sparkly coffees... kinda feels like a refreshing and ligt bodied Guiness - amazing!
They say that the coffee here is known over the world as one of Sydney best. As much as the hype had been around, I personnaly did not regret going there, the only regret is that I did not do it soon enough. The espresso I had butter like texture, combination of sugars & acidity, that brought out the winey flavours, had to ask for another cup as a good punishment.. well worth the visit. Good to know the rumours were right!
