Divine Dessert - November 03, 2014

We love any big open space and we love it more when the dessert vultures land on a big table. Anything peanut butter is on our list to eat, so a blondie was a must. Persian orange slice had a good tang and was moist. Chocolate and caramel slice was gooey enough to compete with Blackstar's famous tart! Now the most surprising order of the day was Double Tonic: ice cold tonic water with double shots of espresso, lemon and ice. It's similar to having champagne after red wine - all the elements give the brain a great rush to make one confused, content and euphoric all at the same time!

This industrial style cafe was bustling when I arrived but the staff sorted out a table for me quickly. I ordered the house made baked beans with mushrooms, spinach, poached egg and sourdough. The baked beans were covered in a rich sauce and it was a massive portion. The poached egg was hard in the middle instead of a nice soft oozy yolk, but that may have been because I left it on top of the beans for a while before eating it. Coffee was good and all in all a good brunch experience. Newspapers to read while brunching solo (or while being anti-social with a loved one) is also a great touch!

I should say that I'm not a coffee person but Double Roaster is much more than your average coffee bar. Went there on a sunday and the place was absolutely buzzing. I loved their freshly squeezed juice selection - I went for apple and ginger - and boy, the roast pork belly sandwich was absolutely to die for. The sandwich size was perfect, it left some space for a dessert! Will defo gò back, although maybe not on a sunday morning.

The best coffee in Marrickville. Gets a bit hectic on the week ends. Staff are so lovely! Food is yummy! You won't be disappointed for brekkie :)

This small and trendy cafe off victoria road is becoming one of my favourite cafes for a good reason, delicious food ! I ordered a vegetarian sandwich and it was the best vegetarian sandwich I had so far ! The portions are just right, enough to make you full but not too much that you can't finish. Their drinks also, are slightly larger that your average cafe, which is what I love because i love my juices and coffees and so on. The atmosphere is great and its quiet enough to talk to your friends without needing to shout although its a packed cafe.
