Mad Spuds Cafe

I enjoy a breakfast that isn't just eggs on toast etc - you will find plenty else here. I also enjoy spuds and they are well treated at Mad Spuds. The prices are good and the food and the vibe are good too.
Awesome Potato Skins, awesome unique brekkie - never thought I would like Black Pudding, the Has Browns are to DIE for. Great coffee, atmosphere and mostly wonderful Service and friendly Staff!
These are the best spuds in Sydney! My favourite disk is the Mad Spud Stack with Crispy potato cake, halloumi, avocado, roast onion, spud skins, sweet potato, mint yoghurt! It's a small place so make sure you allow some time to wait if you go on a Saturday/Sunday morning but definitely worth the wait!
The potatoes or spuds in Mad Spuds are sourced from Robertson in the Southern Highlands. Robertson is famous for its potatoes grown in rich organic red volcanic soil as well as the film, Babe. Mad Spuds uses mainly King Edward, Sebago, Desiree and Nicola and they are baked in a special potato oven called the King Edward potato oven. No wonder the potatoes here are always perfect and taste so good. Amazing! We were spoilt with spud choices in this little cafe. The mad pan brekkie caught my attention and it did not disappoint. It was a pan filled with yummy goodness. The egg was beautifully poached, the borlotti and kidney beans in rich tomato sauce definitely filled me up, the sausages were delicious and my favourite was the real hash brown. The only disappointment was the sweet onion I was promised. It was not sweet and not cooked through.
Interesting cafe with delicious potato based dishes, worth every penny and very filling!
