What a great place! Our first time in Wausau, just stumbled onto it by googling 'restaurants Wausau, WI.' Excellent food, great atmosphere (especially if you like being taken back in time to a simpler, friendlier time), GREAT service, and prices that can't be beat. Highly recommend: fish fry and potato cakes.
Great little dinner (greasy spoon my grandfather used to say). I arrived at 8am and was greeted with a smile and the food was good to. Winner winner!!

As a surprise, I wanted to treat two friends having lunch at the Mint Cafe. The staff was very accommodating on how I could do this for them. Thanks for the behind the scenes service.
Mint Cafe was fantastic! Great breakfast, coffee was fresh ground. Definite must for breakfast in Wausau.
