Friday Harbor Suites
Reviews
I really appreciated that when came off the ferry late to San Juan Island late on a Sunday night in late April 2013 that the Best Western had a person at the desk and an available room. The room was clean, nothing special but decent and the location near Friday Harbor is nice. However for the price of close to $200 with tax/fees for 1 Sunday night in the off/shoulder season (a bit of a premium for the location on San Juan Island I suppose) - I did not appreciate the rather loud staff in the hallway in the AM (the reason for the Poor-Fair service rating, person at the desk was nice and we did not have any other issues) and while I very much appreciated pulling in late and getting a room without reservations our experience was that, at least in the off/shoulder season, there are much nicer places to stay for less if you arrive earlier/make reservations.
No air conditioning, but did not matter for us the weather was cooler also we had the larger room with a regular kitchen and it was really roomy and very nice with a seperate bedroom. Very nice room with a porch. Breakfast is better than most continental breakfasts and this place is within walking distance to the pier so that worked out perfect. Also has a very nice shuttle service.
Way overpriced ($300+ with tax) for old, outdated queen bed room with sofa sleeper. Everything old and worn. Avoid if possible.
I booked this hotel primarily for kitchen, While booking the hotel, they claimed that the suite has large kitchen. But the kitchen has only refrigrator and microwave oven. Not stove or conventional oven. Also there isn't any A/C and thr room was hot, and even worse we couldn't switch off the heater, even if the control is turned to Low. I will never stay there again.
