Mamie's Restaurant
Reviews
Kids loved it. Fast, Basic diner food. Crispy hash browns and pretty good crab cakes. Look past the decor to the view of the harbor.
Went to Mamie's the morning after a wedding and a lot of drinking so had pretty low expectations, just really wanting something greasy and cooked. After paying $16 for what "Mamie" called a "really big omelette" my gf and I dug into a average sized omelette (maybe 3 eggs) with what looked like a McDonalds hash brown chopped up on a paper plate. After eating half of it we noticed that the egg was not cooked and we were eating uncooked "egg snot" mistaken as cheese. Terrible price, food, and an atmosphere that was cluttered and unclean. After words we were all feeling sick and saying how we need to head to the restroom to take a "Mamie".
We stopped for lunch at Orca Island at The Boardwalk, Mamie's is a casual lunch place that largely caters to the ferry crowd. Mamie is a character. It was mostly pub type food, they only offer one non-fried fish dish, Salmon, so we all ordered it. The view is to die for, high on a cliff overlooking the ferry. The salmon was overcooked, in fact Rudy rescued the dishes, the cook wanted to cook the fish ten more minutes. They say it is wild caught Coho, but it was a very pale color. The Salmon was smothered in tarter sauce. I would suggest asking for no tarter and a couple lemons. There are some decent condiments out on the tables, malt vinegar for the fried fish, but it works on Salmon and also hot sauce. Service was also terrible and you may have to clean your own table, but that is what you risk at any smaller boating location. Price before tip was 57.97 for entrees only, we had water to drink.
Overpriced cafeteria food
