Sam's Boat

Why Lake Conroe can't have a great dining experience on the Lake is beyond me. My friend and I both got food poisoning from this place. We ordered different items. I went back the next day after a night of vomiting and terrible pain. The manager was not apologetic at all. He wanted to see the bill from the hospital. If I could have lifted myself off the bathroom floor that night, I would have ran to the hospital. All I wanted was a refund . I paid with a CC. So it would have been easy enough. I will never go back . The place has a staff that is constantly changing. The food is so bad it makes you sick, literally.

Despite many previously negative reviews we decided to give Sam's a try - Brilliant ! Very friendly Bar and Kitchen staff, great service, superb fresh Oysters, overall a really good experience. Highly recommended !!

The worst dining experience in the history of dining...and that is me being nice. Where to begin? Awful food including a boiled cockroach to go along with our boiled crawfish, awful management including no staff supervision whatsoever, and simply the worst service of any restaurant I have ever set foot in. We wanted to buy drinks, lots of them, but we couldn't get our waitress attention long enough for her to even ask if we wanted to order more drinks. We wanted pints, yet we got a pitcher. At the end of the night we were charged for 2 pitchers, served 1, when we actually ordered 0. Then to top everything off, our cards were charged twice. If you are looking for a horrible dining experience with a view, head to Sam's Boat!

Food's pretty good. Views good too. Wait staff are less than. Don't ask for a beer list, you're just supposed to know what they have on draft or in a bottle.

If you want to be ignored and treated rudely this is your place! You never get a smile or a thank you from the big bartender EVER! Greets you with "Whadda U want", I guess the owner must not mind losing business or he'd fire this guy. The "hostesses" are always sitting at the front booth, I always feel like I am interrupting their gab fest if I want a table. I can go next door to Fajita Jacks or a block away to Papa's on the Lake and get MUCH better service without the attitude. Too bad, I live across the street and go out to eat A LOT.
