Sister's is arguably one of the best if not THE best restaurant in Marlin, TX. The owner is an exemplary individual, the decor simple and practical, the food delicious and outstanding. Regarding the latter, I have tried the meatloaf, chicken-fried chicken, and the chicken-fried steak, all of which bordered on excellence. The side dishes aren't all that amazing, though I can't say they're bad. If you live in Marlin, this is probably the only good place you can find to eat. Oh and regarding the reviewer who told about how the meatloaf made him violently ill, that probably was just an "off day" because no such event has occurred in the numerous times I've been here.

There isn't much to choose from in Marlin. I come to this forsaken town a few times a year on business. Several townfolk raved about this diner, so I decided to try it. I found out while there that Sister's got a write-up in some magazine a while back as a small town place you must try. Maybe I visited on an off day. This place made me sick. Not just sick...the food made me violently ill. Worst case of food poisoning in my life. I thought I was going to die. I had the meatloaf. Never again.

I've eaten here many times; it's always full of people on Sunday afternoon, and I don't hear anybody complaining about anything. The food is mostly very tasty, atmosphere is local, but every time we go there, we meet somebody from Houston (3 1/2 hours drive), Dallas (2 to 2 1/2 hours drive), Austin (1 1/2 to 2 hours), etc., etc. Obviously, the "fried chicken issue" is a non issue.
