Pecan Street Brewing

Nice staff, good beer, cute place. They have a couple of TVs, but this is not a sports. We didn't eat, so I can't comment from experience on the food, but the folks sitting next to us were complimentary. I'd definitely stop again if in town.

We made the trip from Fredericksburg to this brewery and it was well worth ther trip. They have a reasonable selection of both their own beers and a few from other local breweries. The food was awesome and everything we had was very good. This will be a regular stop when I am in that area.

While highly recommended, Pecan Street Brewing did not live up to the hype for us. The service was disorganized and somewhat rude on what seemed to be an unexpectedly busy Saturday afternoon. There was no sense of urgency or eagerness to please. The hostess would not do anything but seat people, but she seemed to not really know what she was doing. The food was fine but not exceptional. The beer sampler flight was nice, but otherwise we left rather unimpressed and somewhat annoyed after waiting an inordinate amount of time for our bill.

Not a lot of places to eat in Johnson City and definitely a "hole in the wall" place, but these places sometimes have the best food. Had the pizza which was a thin crust and good, but the hamburgers, crispy fries, chicken fried steak, grilled chicken salad, etc that others were having looked totally yummy. A lot of locals were eating there. Service was excellent and friendly.

This is a great place for Johnson City. The food menu is basic pub fare (pizza, burgers and sandwiches) with a few other entres. Menu items are prepared fresh and the quality is good. Most of the beer is brewed on site, accompanied by a few local Texas guest beers. Beer quality is on par with most other brew pubs, and that's good too. I recommend everyone stop by for the food and the beer.
