Several years ago I went into this bar for karaoke because I'd heard it was good. I waited all night to get up & sing fro over an hour while some went up 3-4 times while I was waiting. The management didn't seem to think it was a problem. But I've always been taught the KJ's try to get the new singers up asap. The guy was getting tipped, so they could sing as much as they wanted. Well, I might have been willing to tip him if he'd earned it. NOW...fast forward to last night. I was with a friend & our regular Saturday night place was doing something different, so we decided to give Yupp's another chance. (BTW, my friend didn't know about my previous experience 6 yrs prior.)and the same thing happened. I waited for over an hour, while this one girl was asked to stay up & sing a 2nd song with a guy who had ALSO already sung since I'd been there. I told the waitress why were were leaving when she asked, and she begged us to stay & give them a chance to work it out. I might have been willing to do that had it not been for the problem before. I have to tell you, I was more than slightly angry. But rather than making a scene, I just left, and we spent our money elsewhere. I don't know what you folks consider good karaoke, but unprofessionalism isn't good karaoke to me. Sure, it was a great atmosphere, & we honestly felt comfortable there, with friendly people. I still feel that way, too. The problem isn't the clientele, it's the karaoke company. Yupp's had a fair 2nd chance to earn my business. And I really DO love karaoke. But the same problem after 6 years? I guess it doesn't matter what I think. I'm only 1 person, & they seem to be doing fine. But this was my honest experience. Oh, and by the way, I've never been kicked out of this or any other place, and I have no axe to grind with the owners/management. I'm just an average consumer who had a couple of bad experiences here, & this is the honest review. for what it's worth.

Awesome get away. I work second shift so it is a cool place to go after work so I don't feel like I am just working my night away. Mark is really cool as well.

Love yupps! Staff walks unescorted girls safely to car, when possible. Always really nice and down to earth! Bartender even told a pushy guy to back off me. Sometimes you just want to escape the drama and sometimes uppity crowds of downtown FW, and this is the perfect place to wind down, relax, then partaaaay!
