Poet's Coffee
Reviews

I'm working on a personal record of going to Poet's all seven days of the week. My current streak is four in a row, because it is just that good. Whether you want a regular cup of drip coffee, a double shot of espresso, an iced mocha, or a blended frozen chocolate chai tea with soy (yes, you can get that), this place has got it all. Not to mention some of the nicest staff around. Recently updated (not gonna lie, I liked the orange walls, but this works too), the ambiance is conducive to creativity, chatting with friends, or writing a resume--whatever you want to do. The back room even has four-person tables where you can spread out, just try to get there before they're all taken. Seriously, if you like local business, if you like coffee, if you like having a place to hang out four evenings out of the week (and believe me, I am not the only one who does that), check out Poet's. You won't be disappointed.

I like to go there and get chocolate caramel lattes, zone out to my music, and crochet or read a book. Nice atmosphere with two unlabeled "single-stall" bathrooms so you don't walk out to impatient people waiting to use the restroom when there's a perfectly good one right next to it. People like to criticize the place and say that it's hipster, but I haven't had a bad time there.

A little out of the way if you're driving on the 40, but worth the detour. Very nice staff and great atmosphere.

Though I don't drink coffee, I love Poets. The atmosphere is great, I love their teas (the spiced chai especially - hot or cold), the chicken salad gets in an A (that's a pun - they get their chicken salad from Grade A Catering - but even so, it is amazing), and the staff is friendly and helpful. They've got plenty of seats out front and a back room if you like more quiet spaces.

Great coffee shop. A little dark for reading, but still works. The back room is nice for studying. Chicken salad croissant is great.
