Really cool atmosphere with a restored, modern/industrial feel. Attentive wait staff, excellent food with very generous portions, and unbelievably low prices. Why anyone would ever eat at a chain when this place is available is beyond me!
The atmosphere was really lovely. The food immediately gets a five-star rating. Our meals were beyond fantastic -- my hard-to-please boyfriend was actually impressed and had nothing bad to say about his steak or potato. I thought at first that the restaurant was a little pricey, but honestly, for the size of the meals that you get it's actually cheap. The drinks were great... But our service was absolutely horrible. We had a long wait for our food and the restaurant was not that busy. While our waitress was polite, she was non-existent at our table. In fact, at one point we had to ask another server to GET her so that we could get our check and a box for our leftovers. We had to ask for our drinks to be refilled and they sat empty for several minutes before she could be bothered to come and check on us. When she did, it was obvious that she had no intentions of asking if we would have liked more to drink or if there was anything else that she could get for us. In all, we would go there again, but we would definitely make sure that we got a different server. I'd recommend this place to anyone, simply because the food was that delicious.
J. Peters is in our regular rotation for both lunch and dinner, and we have never been disappointed. Whether it's a work lunch or dinner with my wife, they never disappoint. The bartenders are eager to please, and the kitchen staff obviously cares about delivering you a fresh, hot meal. Not once have I ever been served anything other than a steaming hot plate of food, which the exception of the salads, of course. The price is definitely right, and the portions leave plenty for leftovers. Be sure to try the prime rib sandwich.
Stopped in for lunch on a Friday, not very busy but what a meal! The She-crab soup was phenomenal and the house salad was huge. Shared both and couldn't get to my great looking wrap! Our waitress was so helpful, sweet and kind. If I'm ever in the area, I WILL be back!
