The Yolk
Reviews
The yoke isn't a breakfast house it's a breakfast kingdom.
This is arguably the best breakfast place in Rock Hill, and should be a go-to for anyone who loves breakfast food. It's practically the JJ's Diner of this town. The new location is better in every way, and the menu seems to have something great I hadn't noticed before every time I go. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is exactly what you want from a breakfast/brunch restaurant. Long live the Yolk.
The food is always inspired, I just don't get the community table. Most people want to sit together in a group with the people they know and came with. Maybe this feeling is wrong, but it's the way it is. There are empty seats at the community table where people waiting would be sitting in, if set as regular tables. It's sad people have to wait because of someone's feel good notion.
This place might not look like much, but the breakfast was inspired. I had an omelet called the Fun Guy. This omelet contained asiago cheese, mushrooms and a ton of herbs. Good coffee and the service was friendly and creative. I would visit this small place for breakfast again.
Ive eaten at the best restaurants in the country and nothing stacks up to the breakfast at the yolk (just ahead of the Wynn breakfast in Las Vegas). Best shrimp and grits ive ever had, and the french toast was utterly amazing. If there wasnt a wait every time we went, I would eat here everyday!
