Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill

First few times here, we really liked it. But as of late, it's not been that great at all. Every time we've been here, it's crowded. Count on waiting at least 20-30 minutes, which we've been willing to do because the food was always good. But on our last visit, we arrived around 8pm, and we had the usual 30 minute wait. Once we got seated, we tried to order right away as we had commitments still to get to that evening. The waitress was fine, and she was pleasant and refilled drinks, etc.... But the food was mediocre, at best. By the time it was served, it was all luke-warm, like it had been sitting & waiting for someone to bring it to the table for 20-30 minutes. I had ordered a build your own combo, and had included the beef brisket. Normally, it's very good, but this was very fatty. And, I know, brisket can be a fatty cut, but I've had it here before and they must have trimmed it better or something because it has never been this fatty before. I'll pass on the brisket in the future. We thought about asking them to warm everything up, but we were pressed for time by the time the food was served, so we just ate what we could and left. I'll be looking for another place for good bbq the next time we want to go for bbq. Anyone have suggestions?
My wife and I have been here many times. We usually go for lunch and don't ever have to wait. We use the $10 coupon and it's reasonable prices. Turkey club, burgers, fries have a great seasoning. The wings are the biggest ive found in York😁. I love the wings! Service has been good to us. We just earned a free meal with our Smoky Bones card! Took a while though. No sweetener on any tables? WHY? Lots of TV's atmosphere is good. Try the different sauces they have at each table! I will return for more wings.
Matt (our bartender) was great as usual and the atmosphere is pretty good. The sampler appetizer, however, was hit or miss. The chicken tenders were awesome, the onion rings were good, the "loaded" fries and what they call nachos were, however, terrible. Both were cold, the fries just tasted bad, and the nachos were essentially nothing but chips with some shredded cheese on it that wasn't even melted and a healthy portion of sour creme (the only thing they did get right). We hardly touched the fries or nachos and ended up making food at home, which is what we had wanted to avoid.
I had a mango iced tea and it was the best tea ever. She brought me another n it wasnt the same. I asked what was wrong ,waitress says "oh i ran out of sweet tea" totally turned me off. She offered to bring me sweetner instead of tellin me what i was drinking wasnt goin to taste the same.
In my opinion, everything was okay. It's not the best restaurant I've been to, but it's actually really better than what I thought it was gonna be. Service was quite exceptional. Didn't have any problems. Although I kinda cringed when I saw the egg burger thing in the menu. Eugh. No thanks.
