Consistently Terrible! My coworkers and I, who work at one of Union County’s largest employers, go to happy hour once a month. Last night was our 5th or 6th visit to the Town Tavern. EVERY time we go the service is terrible but last night was the final straw. I'll never go back. I'll highlight a few of our experiences. It starts with: the advertised special on the sign out front is only if you're eating out back, Happy Hour is at the bar only not if you're sitting next to it at a table, they only have half the beers on the beer list, and the ones they do have are going to be warm and come in a dirty glass. BUT the BEST, by far, of their shortcomings is that paying customers have to leave once trivia starts on Thursday nights. We had just ordered dinner and had full intentions of playing their free trivia game when they started to hassle us about the table we were sitting at. We had “too many people for trivia.” What was the big deal? Half of the people at our table were leaving before trivia started which was at least an hour away, leaving us with an acceptable number of participants. We had ordered and were waiting for our meals when our service came to a halt. Our waitress disappeared and the manager started making openly rude comments towards us. If he was an employee of mine and represented me or my business in the same manner we'd have a huge problem. We can't be the first people who want to have dinner at their restaurant on a Thursday night. There are plenty of other restaurants in Lewisburg who’d be glad to have our business and they certainly will before I ever consider going back to the Town Tavern. Learn some manners guys!

I tend to agree with the other reviews about the locals that frequent this establishment. Their meals are fairly good. Their fish and sandwiches are very good. Bartenders are very "clickish" and not very friendly or welcoming. The place could use a good scrubbing.

The health board should pay them a visit. The place is filthy in every kind of way. About 2 minutes after getting flat beers in dirty glasses a rude young lady who was bar tending insulted me and my party. I tried to calm her down and she yelled and insulted us further. I left a 0.00 for the tip and she threw a fit like a child then had a bouncer throw us out. Keep in mind we had only had one or two sips of the beers we purchased. Even if they refund my hard earned money and clean the place up, I will never return. I urge you to go across the street where the staff is a bit more civil and the surfaces less sticky.

Best bloody marys in town.

Have eaten there several times and the food is very good. Plenty of beers on tap and the outside dining is nice in the summer. Overall a good place to eat
