Lucky Dog Café
Reviews
My wife, dog, and I spent our July 4th evening here, enjoying a few beverages and great burgers as acoustic covers of our favorite songs drifted out over the water. Can't beat the warm, relaxed atmosphere.
Been here with friends to enjoy the great beer selection, but also with family (young kids, wife). I've been lucky enough to catch a live musician or two on the deck. I love their burritos and chips. Lots of dogs bring their owners here for dinner. There is an enclosed, clean playground just off the deck with a small jungle gym - so it is actually quite nice for once to be able to eat in peace knowing your kids are entertained (between the healthy kids menu, dogs, and live music). My wife and I make a point to stop here every time we are in the area. The food is always really good and the owners are unassuming, down to earth folks who are nice to know.
Fantastic fresh made wraps, breads, chips. Definitely a repeat place.
We were biking thru and had marked this as a place to get water and food along the Great Allegheny. Cool place, very friendly staff, good bike parking, etc etc. Next time we would like to stay longer but quick snacks, cold drinks and we were on our way. Thanks for making it easy on us!!
I had to write after reading the last review from 'goodfind'. Lucky Dog is the most kid friendly restaurant we have ever been to. We have 2 young boys and rarely eat out because it's such a chore, but a meal at Lucky Dog is a completely different story. My husband and I can actually sit, chat and relax while our kids make friends and play on the playground. And our boys eat their dinner and it's healthy (salmon and broccoli on a kids menu!). I have also seen the sign mentioned in the prior review, but I guess the reviewer didn't get the intended joke. With a healthy kids menu, a basket of toys, quality children's books and a secure PLAYGROUND attached to the outside seating area I can't imagine the owners being more welcoming to kids and families.
