Worth the wait and time to chat and love everything he makes!!!!I've tried almost the entire menu. love the Walnut tea yeah. Breakfast a waffle with orange cream and hot links is the best ever, and the half rack is my favorite with beans and rice and yams, oh my. I love good southern food and this is the best around here. So for the best the south has to offer this the place to go. Call ahead if you want to make sure he hasn't run out of what you want.Especially on the weekends.
Had a great combo of red beans & rice (with hamhock) and 5 oz. of the Brisket, and I have to say it's some of the best that I've had since living in Texas....nice dry-rub, tangy sauce with a bit of heat, nice folks running the joint and a true concern for their product! Enjoy!!!
It is very very very yummy. The mac n cheese is great. the smoothies are all natural, so they are very delish. I recommend it to anyone.
The staff is wonderful, the food is delicious, and the sweet potato waffle is sublime! Happy is the hardest working guy ever and Happy Java's is a gem in our wonderful city!
Happy's Java & Soul Food Shack is AMAZING! They specialize in Alabama style BBQ and cajun Soul Food. Everything on the menu is delicious but my favorite is the pulled pork sandwich, Alabama Mac & Cheese with Brisket, and Happy's Sweet Potato Belgian Waffle topped with Heavenly Orange Cream and Pecans! Plus, the owner of this business and his family are some of the kindest people you will even meet. It truly doesn't get any better than this.
