Charming diner in a very charming little town. The halibut fish and chips is something not to be missed. Fish basket (three pieces) is plenty for one person with fries and cole slaw. The fish is fresh and firm, with the texture of a moist chicken - I hate slimy, old frozen fish! - and the batter is crispy. The full fish dinner is plenty to split between two people - and leaves plenty of room for a piece of pie...
Had beer battered shrimp. They were good but at 10 of them for $20 with some tots rather expensive and batter seemed old. Prime rib dip sandwhich was ok. Next night.. country fried steak at $14. Was inedible. I rarely send food back but the gravy was pasty, watery and gross. I have made better packet gravy. The steak looked closer to hamburger... And the fried part was awful, not crispy and was just flour pretty much. Soggy. I had one bite and sent it back. Very disappointed. For a tourist area with limited places to eat, they should do better. I was refunded in full, but also both times had to get up and grab my own to go boxes.
Worst service & waitresses of any restaurant I have ever been too! After 1 hour our Food had not even been started with no apologies! We left with complete disappointment!!!
I had lunch at the gallery yesterday and I was not impressed at all! For the price I paid the food it should of been good and it wasn't. I will not be going back there EVER! THUMB DOWN!!!
Excellent food and service. Asked about the soup of the day and was given a sample. One taste sold me on the soup and on the attitude of the restaurant and staff. Will make it a place to stop on the way through Sisters.
