I hope the owners of this restaurant actually read these reviews. Steak was tasteless. It appears that the "chef" - and I use this title very, very loosely - has no idea what seasoning is. We've been going to this restaurant on and off for a few years now, and the only decent steak I've ever had from them was the first time I went there. My wife likes to sit on the deck and the restaurant is within walking distance of our house. I keep on hoping that they will get a decent chef who knows how to cook a steak properly. In all honesty, if it weren't for my wife liking to sit on the deck I'd never visit this restaurant again. The only positive thing I have to say about the dining experience is that the waitresses are friendly... and they have a deck.
Don't order the meat, get the chicken
We have been to this restaurant MANY times. I'm not sure why we keep going back. The only thing on the menu that is tolerable is the spinach salad and the crackers they serve out of the packages. The french onion soup is hit or miss. We have been served spoiled meat at this place more than once. I like the idea of the place, but it is time for a face lift, including the crabby old wait staff.
Always love going to the Fairlawn Steak House. The beef tenderloin steak is my favorite! Also love the cheddar/horseradish cheese dip on crackers that is served when you arrive! This is one of our families' favorite places to eat!
We love coming here, Pat is awesome & they are the only place in Darke County to serve their full menu until 12 midnight!
