Brews Cafe

My family and I truly had terrible service at Brews. The first time we ate there in 2011 we enjoyed ourselves. The food was good, as was the service. We recently returned to Granville to spend the weekend, and we were looking forward to returning to Brews for dinner. We had the opposite experience this time around. Our service was not good. Our waitress took my son's order down wrong, which really wouldn't have been that big a deal except that she didn't come over to check on us for so long we had already eaten most of our meals. To make it worse, we could see her in the back texting for most of that time. My wife's food (the steak tacos) came out and was literally stone cold, as was my son's burger. My meal was the only one that was warm. I had to ask a bus boy to get a manager for me (since our waitress still had not checked on us at that point), and after waiting for about 10 minutes we were told that the manager had stated that she was too busy to come to talk to us. Instead she finally sent our waitress over, who took $15 dollars off the bill, and we never got to see a manager. I have to say that having a manager refuse to talk to a customer was a first for me. We will be returning to Granville, but we will not be visiting Brews ever again.
Overpriced bar food but people are waiting in line to get in the door so the prices won't be changing any time soon.
My first time there, so I don't feel right giving it 5 stars. We went for lunch on a weekday, very quite, unique menu very good service. My hats off to the chef for going outside the box for the menu selections. I had a burger with pulled pork a coleslaw - who would ever think of that combo? I wasn't real impressed with their fries though. Ice tea was delicious and our waiter offered one 'to-go' at no charge, Of course, that only added to his tip ;)
I love this place. I just ate the new turkey burger with cranberry relish ( I am assuming it's a seasonal item). It was AMAZING. I wasn't sure about my choice when I saw the apples on it, but it tasted amazing as it was. Also, they had the rare Delirium Noel on tap...also amazing :)
Good service, good food, good homey-feel to it on the second floor.
