Ventosa Vineyards

What an outstanding experience we had. We had lunch on the patio with friends and the food was delicious. We asked if it was possible to tour the winery. Mike Cecere our host had his winemaker Jenna take us on a tour of their operation even though they had a group coming. Jenna was very passionate about her work and it showed in her descriptions of what they did at Ventosa. Our afternoon at Ventosa was a highlight of our trip through the New York finger lakes. I would say if you could only visit one winery in the Finger Lakes, you should go to Ventosa. It was that good.
Just visited this winery for the annual Deck the Halls event. It was towards the end of the last day, and we weren't doing as much wine tasting (due to having a long drive home). When we arrived, we checked in and got our ornament. We decided not to taste, so we skipped that part of the line and tried our food sample. The girl behind the counter said "you have to get your glass for tasting." I explained we weren't going to be sampling. She proceeded to make a fool out of us to the group behind us shouting "you guys are doing in right, they just jumped to the food." I again explained, we are not sampling, we don't need a glass. She continued to shout "people just go for the food." Finally, we just left. There was no reason for her to scream and berate us in front of everyone. It's a shame, we go to Lake Seneca several times a year - not only will I never go here again, I will let everyone know how rude this establishment is. AVOID!
On February 9th weekend I was delighted to travel from Cambridge, Ontario to see my favourite Canadian artist, Kathleen Edwards at Ventosa Vineyards. We went to Ventosa Vineyards prior to the show to see what the set-up for the concert was going to be like since we purchased tickets for dinner as well. When we got there, the manager RJ Passalacqua greeted us, answered our questions, and let us take a peek at the dining room set up for dinner. The venue makes you feel like you're being whisked away to a little Tuscan village. We took a bottle of their Cabernet Sauvignon to the hotel prior to the show. The show was intimate, the food was great, and the wine...phenomenal. After the show, we could not get a hold of a cab ride back to our hotel. RJ tried for 15 minutes relentlessly to get us a cab. We found another couple in the same jam. Figures, the two Canadian couples were the only two left at the venue late without a ride home. RJ graciously offered to drive all of us 10 minutes away to our hotel. Ventosa is a gem of a place on the Seneca Lake of the 5 Finger Lakes. This is a must-see venue and winery.
Very nice please and great wine! Highly recommended
Just had a friends wedding there. Amazing staff and service. Great spread and facilities.
