After reading reviews we were ready for a warm pub atmosphere and food only to encounter a stuck door (are they open?) to a musty entrance downstairs well that frankly smelled of urine! At 6 pm there was only the bartender - on a Friday night! No diners! In an area beat up and dark that definitely did not rise above a college dive. Some early season college kids came in behind us but we only dared have a beer and move on.
This place is great. I've gone there several times. The food is pretty good and it's a fun irish pub. It's great to chill out with your friends cause it's not filled with jocks or frat guys. I've never heard of anyone being rufied there. I think the guy below is just trying to bash the place.
It's nothing fancy. It's a college campus so you can't really expect fine dining. It's an typical pub. The food is good and I like the place. They do have great drink deals every night. Rum Buckets are great. Some fun nights too, live music and trivia is always a good time.
Wonderful!!!
We had a group of 8 people, not a single other party was in the restaurant while we were there for dinner on a Friday night. Our food took 45 minutes, and every person's food came out at different times, one after the other, with a minimum of 5 minutes in between. One person had a salad which came out long after a well-done burger, and the person who had grilled cheese got their meal at least 5 minutes after everyone had finished eating. I love going to The Knot for drinks, but won't be ordering food there again anytime soon. Imagine if there had been other tables...would we have waited longer? The waitress said the cook was new, but we waited way longer than even someone who had never worked there before, and the service was sloppy for delaying our food between each person.
