The McDonalds of eastern NC vinegar based BBQ. If you're going here for Lexington tomato based BBQ or SC mustard style BBQ hash, you're up that well known tributary without a tangible means of transportation.
SCNB is my old standby when my family's coming into town, and I need to feed a lot of people. It ain't cheap, but it's always dependably good, and I've ranked it Very Good in all categories.
Pork BBQ was dry besides the vinigar based sauce there was not anything else to choose from owners need to realize not eveyone is a vinigar base sauce fan
Decent nc style bbq especially for a chain
I was not a big fan of the pork but loved the chicken. It is very flavorful.
They were sooo good at one time. Now they are disgusting. I had been getting the family pack about twice a month since they opened but stopped about two years ago. Fat and grissle in the BBQ, stew cooked to mush, greasy chicken. I went back recently just to try it again and it hasn't improved. Such a shame as I love Smithfield's but this particular one is not good. There are several others in the area that are wonderful.
