Epic Chophouse
Reviews
I read the reviews before going and quite frankly I was a little nervous about going here. But the meal was great and the service was fine. We were in before a couple of large groups so I don't know if that would have changed the experience based on other people's review. give it a shot. Food was great.
Awful! We went for restaurant week last night and the dinner and service was sub par. My prime rib was ordered medium and came out a grisly, fatty mess. Another person in our party had to send the filet back because it was under cooked. The waiter, "its restaurant week, just trying to get everyone in and out". That is awful service. I had been to Epic a few times before and had so-so service and food, never again.
The Epic Chophouse event room was the perfect size and setting for an intimate early October wedding rehearsal dinner for my fifty guests. It was a pleasure to work with Mr. Doyle during the months of planning. He made sure that the room was in order and that each item I requested was in place. For over three and one-half hours, the staff provided attentive bar service, great food and excellent service. The Shanghai Shrimp and the Cheese Toast appetizers were a big hit. Following a tasty garden salad, most guests enjoyed either the Petite Filet or the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes. Both were served with sides of mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. Key Lime Pie was the right dessert after such delicious meals. Everything went smoothly and as planned. I highly recommend Epic Chophouse for any event.
Where to start? This review is past due, but I still feel the need to warn people about this place. Its actually amazing to see it currently has a 4.1 rating on Google. First off service was the worst either of us had ever received. When i say the worst I am not exaggerating, I mean we could have gotten better service from children at a kindergarten brunch. Our server was rude and for some reason would not acknowledge us, while she did have the large table beside us, and gave them plenty of attention - in all of the times she walked past us to them, she never checked on us, my water was constantly empty unless the gentleman from the bar brought me another beer, he would fill up our waters. The food, the food would have been okay if it were free, or maybe a charity event, but having expectations of greatness and then getting what we did, it left a sour taste in our mouth for this establishment. The "famous" chicken pot pie was bland, no flavor, no taste. A frozen Marie Calendars would have been better than this, I could only eat a few bites, it was just that bad. The steak was okay for a steak, not great, my dates exact words were, damn we should have went to the Outback or longhorn! Overall we spent about 90 minutes at this place, our server spoke to us maybe 4 times in that 90 minutes, of which she was rude and condescending. I will never return to this place, if you gave me a gift card for this place, i would simply throw it in the fire place, I wouldn't even give it to someone else. I may have just been there at the wrong time, hopefully the kitchen is putting out better food and that server has gotten herself a job doing something else.
Very disappointed. I had been looking forward to dining at Epic for months. We ordered the 48 oz ribeye, grilled shrimp and asparagus to share. The shrimp and asparagus were delicious, but the ribeye was burned so throughly that it was inedible to me. The taste permeated the steak and I literally could not eat it because there was no way to cut out the horrid taste. It was, unfortunately, the worst steak I have ever tasted (which was a shame because the texture of the steak was nice). It also was not even close to 48 ounces in weight or size, and had almost as much fat on it as it did meat. It was not marbled, but rather had huge chunks of fat. I'd say it had 16 oz of meat at best. We joked that maybe the other half burned off and caused the fire that ruined the steak. On top of that, we ordered two martinis. Mine was wonderful, but my husband had to send his back because it tasted of pure olive juice. Take the reviews to heart. It made for a memorable anniversary dinner that we will joke about for years to come.
