For the past 6 years every time my wife and I come to OBX we have date night at Ocean Boulevard. The good is always outstanding! The service is like any other above average restaurant, sometimes it's great and sometimes is lacking. We like to make reservations about a month in advance and sit at the chefs table - a lot of fun watching all the different foods coming out of the kitchen.

Would love to leave a good review for these guys but we had a really disappointing first experience. My wife and I stopped in on Saturday night around 6:30pm. We made our way to sit at the bar to have a few drinks to unwind after work and before our dinner. The bar was empty at the time and the bartender seemed attentive, just busy. He made his way over and was very courteous to us at first. We ordered two top shelf drinks and expressed interest in getting a menu for dinner. After about five minutes, three other couples came to the bar, two older couples and one younger like ourselves. From the moment the older couples (who obviously were on vacation) sat down, the younger couples got completely snubbed. The older guests got complete breakdowns of the menu, specials, placemats, waters, drinks, passing compliments, and perhaps a back rub, all before the bartender even acknowledged my wife and I had been waiting to order our food. The woman from the other younger couple glanced my way and it seemed that we shared an annoyance for the blatant disrespect we were being paid as guests there. When the bartender finally came back over to us I informed him we just wanted our check and to leave. The other bartender who actually ran the tab was awesome and I wish he'd had pocketed my tip I left. I will not return here nor recommend to anyone else.

Excellent food, atmosphere and service! We had a large group and were accommodated with a large semi-private table upstairs, which included an absolutely beautiful moonlit view. Our waiter was attentive and fun. We were especially impressed with how deftly he moved up and down the stairs with all our orders! We enjoyed yummy cocktails, appetizers, entrees AND desserts. Presentation was beautiful and everything was delicious. I went crazy over the many vegetarian options I had to choose from. After a lovely meal I got the shock of a lifetime when my boyfriend unexpectedly proposed to me. Unbeknownst to me, my best friend had helped him choose Ocean Blvd because of their extensive and interesting vegetarian menu. I'm still not sure how we missed this place until now, but I promise we won't miss it on any of our future visits to the Outer Banks! We've also decided to have our wedding in Nags Head and hope to have Ocean Blvd cater our wedding or rehearsal dinner. Thank you for making our special moment so perfect!

Tables are very close we could hear every word from the table next to us concerning their sex life. Very uncomfortable to be so close. If you can get a booth that is the way to go. They punish parties of two.
