I have to say I was VERY pleasantly surprised at how good the food is here...seafood is cooked perfectly and the cajun wings are AMAZING! will be looking for an excuse to go back soon...

This restaurant is in a strip shopping center that is not very attractive (a year ago anyway,) in an older area with a more industrial feel to it. Not an area one would go looking for a restaurant although there are several strip shopping centers there and a couple more restaurants, but it's less than a mile minutes from 64 where it joins (or unjoins) 23 so the location is convenient if nothing else. I was having my oil changed at the dealership across the street and it was recommended by the shop employees. My wife and I (newlyweds at the time) like to go to hole-in-the-wall type restaurants and were pleasantly surprised at the Mardi Gras decor once we entered. This was no hole-in-the-wall; the owners had gone to great lengths to make you feel as if you had just travelled to Baton Rouge! There was a small bar area as well as a separate dining area and I placed myself so I could get pictures of this place! This was a year ago so I'll try to remember what we had. I remember the Crab Cakes, and some type of Shrimp appetizer with a garlic sauce that was great for dipping bread. My wife ordered a Cajun chowder which she enjoyed very much. I had the Jambalaya but found that the chef tries different recipes for this and this time it was a veggie Jambalaya. I didn't enjoy it as much as everything else. It was still good, but I was hoping for a meat version. Everything was presented well and the service was fine. We were staying in a friend's cabin and told him about Cajun Connection when we got back. It's now one of their favorites as well! We are heading back to Franklin for our anniversary and we will definitely return to this restaurant again. My friend tells me that they have expanded and we feel that we will be once again pleasantly surprised at what they've done with the place and will enjoy the food just as much as before. I'll ask about the Jambalaya though to make sure I get the meat version this time!
