Flipperz Family Bar and Grill

The service and hospitality was great!! On the other hand, the food was a different story. My husband ordered a ribeye which was over cooked and definitely not worth no $20.00. I could have bought the same steak at food lion for a lot cheaper. My son ordered a cheeseburger and that was over cooked as well. The lettuce was wilted and the bun was dry. I will not be eating there again.

We went to the establishment and ordered dinner to go. The service wasn't too bad, the lady was nice and suggested a particular seasonal dessert. The food, on the other hand, was a totally different story. Being primarily vegetarian, and not seeing any particular veggie-friendly options, I ordered two appetizers: cheese sticks and green bean fries - two things I thought were sure to be good.. wrong. My boyfriend ordered the combination platter with fried shrimp, oysters, and scallops. My cheese sticks were clearly frozen and barely cooked on the inside, very tough and not gooey or stringy at all; the marinara sauce was also cold. The green bean fries were the exact opposite, extremely overcooked, burnt, shriveled up and blackened from being fried too long. His seafood platter was extremely greasy, to the point that he spent the evening vomiting and miserable. His baked potato was okay, the bacon was almost raw it was so undercooked. The cheesecake was the only decent part of the meal - but we will never be going back to this restaurant again. If you like terrible, over- and under-cooked food dripping with oil, this is your place; if not, save time and money and try somewhere else, like Amos Mosquito's in Atlantic!

This place was awesome. Service was wonderful. The food was good. Everyone in our large party was happy. I had the catch of the day, blackened mahi, and it was amazing. I would definitely recommend. Only downside is not a huge seafood selection. It's more of a bar and grille.

I've been visiting Emerald Isle since I was little and this was my first time at Flippers. We had a large party and were told that the wait would be 35 minutes, which isn't bad at all during Summer season. Food was great and the service was even better! The catch of the day(blackened Mahi) was out of this world and the cole slaw was even better. Our entire table was pleased and left with more food as left overs. =) The kiddos enjoyed the "Sally's Sandwich" and got a kick that they could order that! Over all, I would recommend this to any family as the atmosphere and food are great.

One of the better places in Emerald isle to eat lunch or dinner. It is pretty small and sometimes staff seems slow, but the food is good and consistent. The shop is neat and they have pretty good fudge now. I had flounder one night and marinated chicken on another night. The flounder was perfect and a huge portion, I had to take half home. I've been here 4-5 times now and they only thing I could complain about is staff being a bit slow in high traffic.
