Kafe Utza is a surprising place in the old cowtown. The house coffee has a unique flavor -- very good particularly if you like your coffee strong and with some character. The pastries are also wonderful, but you have to get in early for a full selection. Due to the size of the business, baking is done primarily in the morning. The atmosphere is also a plus. This is not your typical cowboy coffee stop, but don't be surprised to find cowboy hats in the place. Open M-Sat. Sat only until 2 p.m.

Kafe Utza, fair trade coffee is roasted in house, always fresh. The pastries are hand crafted and artfully presented. The staff is pleasant and friendly. The atmosphere is coffee house industrial with comfortable seating on contemporary furniture or nostalgic dining sets. There is no kitch or distraction. The music is always on and always good. Local art work is displayed and changed often. If you are visiting, Utza is a must stop. For me it is a ritual.
