Lu Lu Seafood & Dim Sum
Reviews
The best Dim Sum around. It's always hot and fresh; so hot you have to let some dishes cool of a minute before eating them. The waiters/waitresses speak English and are very pleasant. This place ROCKS!!! I've eaten at so many other restaurants serving Dim Sum on the weekends across the U.S.. Lu Lu's is SO GOOD that my wife and I planned and ate there on Christmas Day. WOW... it was jammed packed with diners too. The restaurant is spotless too and decorated with lots of vintage Chinese items. Even the restrooms are immaculately clean!
Wow, really tasty food! Me and two other friends gorged ourselves full and wound up spending only about $28 each. A little pricy, but consider how much food we had and it makes sense. Lots of really tasty dishes is what dim sum's all about!
Worst restaurant I have ever been, the food is bad and the service is even worse, people in there ignores you and wait forever for the food, at the end they even charged me the wrongful amount, a lot more than what we ordered, and did not apologize for that. Will never come again!
I think the common theme here is great dim sum but really, really, really bad service. (Yea, that was three reallys). Primarily, the cashier lady who happens to be the owner's daughter. My experience over the last five years has been her demanding more tip when you give anything less than 20%. This is embarrassing for any patron... Especially when they really haven't deserved the 20% tip (takes forever to refill water or tea, 10-15 min for the cart you want to come around). She also happens to hate groupon, which her dad publishes every two months. Maybe if you hate groupons, tell your dad to stop posting it. She literally scoffs at you when you give her groupons. (Try it, it is pretty funny, in retrospect). Finally, she will not let you split checks. We were there today with a group of eight friends. She said one of us had to pay for every thing. I had to haggle with her to split it six ways. When I told her she had a terrible service attitude, she said "where else are you going to go?" So in summary, great food. Worst service in St. Louis. Go to Mandarin House instead.
Dim Sum items are great, decor is very nice, but owner and staff are short with you (or maybe just Caucasians) and come off as rude. A bit pricey too. $15 - $20 for 3 dim sum items. They dont seem to like if you use groupon, added gratuity and dinner prices for lunch items makes the groupon worthless.
