2 Lads Winery
Reviews
It's in a modern looking building up on a hill, way out on the peninsula, and it's worth a visit just for the view. We weren't thrilled with the wines, however. They were fine, nothing was bad, but we preferred the other few tastings of the day. It's out by the park with the old lighthouse, a few minutes away, so it can be a nice stop to warm up after that. I think they may have been having an off-year, too, so it'd be worth trying it another year; I say this because we made sure to go because my friend had been before and was raving about a wine he'd tried there.
I am more of a red wine fan, but I have to say that their sparkling Pinot Grigio and their Rose Cabernet Franc 2012 blew me away. I wish I had purchased more. We joined their wine club and will return as soon as we can. Their personnel were all exceedingly friendly and helpful and made us feel very well treated.
The young staff at 2 lads reflected this newly constructed, very modern and unique winery. It was a good fit for a couple of novice wine conesuers that enjoyed the expertise from the single elderly wine pro. This old man was so helpful and taught us a lot about the wine our palate was enjoying while our eyes enjoyed the view out the towering window that was the backdrop of the bar.
What a winery SHOULD be. This winery has it all. An open, architectually appealing tasting room. Friendly, fun and knowledgeable staff and GREAT wines. The girl who waited on us made us feel like celebrities. It was SO fun. When in TC this winery is a MUST see. The view: amazing. The wine: amazing. A+ winery.
Tasty wines and excellent staff.
