We went here about 2 years ago and had an amazing French toast & custard recipe for breakfast. Came back last weekend hoping for a repeat (yes, we talked about this for 2 years!). The waitress told us it was only a seasonal/summer dish that was served on Sundays. But she asked the chef if they were going to have it the next morning or not. The chef/(owner?), said she would make a small batch special for us. Apparently this recipe is very involved and requires an overnight soak of French bread in the awesome mixture. We were very appreciative that she would go through all the trouble just for us. The next day we came in for our special treat and I think she gave us double the normal serving because it was huge! We were not disappointed. We ate so much that we were not hungry until dinner! On top of it all, she gave us a Tupperware of the leftover custard batter with directions on how to prepare it when we got home. I was so touched that I got a little choked up. This is service above and beyond. The food was amazing and the wait staff is ALWAYS friendly. We will always make this a stop when we stay in the UP.
Small menu but a big surprise for me. After eating at four other not so good restaurants I wandered into this place for dinner and the following morning for breakfast. Next time I'm in St Ignace I'll be wandering right back to Bentley's. Breakfast was greasy but very good. The dinner cheese burger was also great. They make their own fries and leave the skins on the potatoes... the way nature intended. I finished up with a strawberry shake that was three bucks at the time of this review and it was worth every penny... one of the best shakes ever! Also the service was just fine. Thanks guys, for such a nice experience.
Great food, lovely place I had a beef pasty with gravy and it was great. I also ordered cheese fries, they cut their own fries, they are awesome
Pastie was awful. We had it to go and threw it out. Beef didn't have any flavor and the breading was soggy. Had a shrimp salad and the shrimp was good but the lettuce was a little brown and had no leaves.
Very chilled and relaxed cozy little dinner. Good food. Price is appropriate
