Treetops Resort

Bed was like sleeping on a Flintstones era concrete slab. While we were there, part of the ceiling tile caved in from water leak in the hallway. Showers had little to no water pressure, couldn't even take a relaxing shower. The room itself (room 209) smelled like it had been sealed in 1972 and I was the first person to open the door since. My wife said the place was disgusting and she made me cancel our 2nd night and book elsewhere. Unfortunately, I agree with her......this place was tired, old and in need of significant updates given the 4 star price for 1 star quality
Loved the pool and location of this resort. But man was the service terrible. Called down to front desk to have our tv volume adjusted because it was locked at volume 30 and the front desk agent told us maintenance would be up shortly. When maintenance arrived the guy acted like he couldn't fix the issue. Later in the evening, called down to front desk to ask for a plate and forks and was told they didn't have any forks. How can a hotel not have any forks?!?! Anyways an okay place location wise, but laziest staff I've ever seen.
Come for the golf but do not stay!! The courses are wonderful (other than the idiot rangers who have no idea how to do their job). But the accommodations are to be avoided. I strongly urge you not to stay on the property. Top many bad things to list in one review. Do not stay there. Go to a real hotel that knows how to run a business. They expect s captive audience and do not care hire bad they run things.
Went to Treetops for the last skiing of this season. The staff was outstanding!! Everyone who worked there was friendly and helpful. The main lodge has nice big rooms, easy in and out. The outdoor pool was big and very warm and swimmable. We swam for over an hour without getting cold. The pool connects indoors to a smaller pool and whirlpool/ sauna room. The short drive/ shuttle to the main lift is about 3 minutes. Even though there are only 3 lifts, the skiable terrain is big. Some really fun blues and greens, sprinkled with fun chutes of black diamonds with trees to play in. The massive jumps in the terrain park were nicely built. Almost all the trails were open and groomed for April skiing. The break in the pub overlooking the main mountain included a great burger and a good choice of Michigan brews. Did I mention the great staff?
PACE OF PLAY WAS TERRIBLE. We played 18 holes on Wed (9-18-13) on the Fazzio course and it took just over 5 1/2 hours to play. The tee boxes and greens were really chewed up. And very little sand in the traps. Not what we would were expecting for a top rated golf course. On Thur. we payed extra to play the Signature course very very slow. We skipped 2 holes and jumped ahead of 2 foursomes, and found a hole and 1/2 gap. We had complained to the ranger earlier in the round but he obviously did not do anything about the extremely slow golfers in front of us. This course was in excellent shape, and has a spectacular view from every tee box. But we were there to play golf, and 5+ hours to play is too long.
