The lore on BBQ joints says they should look like "nothin' special", outside and in, but have a good smoker. Here is such a place! We found Charlie's rather by chance, as we were driving up the coast, and had a delicious late lunch there, served up by the lady whose recipes we were eating. Tables are formica, chairs folding, tableware plastic,a ambience informal – the effort goes into the food, which is just great, smoked and cooked to perfection. Pig or chicken, you can't go wrong; great fries, too.
We had Charlie's cater our wedding, everyone loved the food! They were also there to serve the guests! We will use them again. I will recommend them to everyone I know!
This is the real deal. Memphis style bbq at its finest
Owner let me grab a pulled pork sandwich when they were trying to close. It was awesome!
Love the service and food. If I have out of town guest visiting this is usually my recommendation.
