Kentmorr Restaurant

Want easy, good, "down home" Shore food ? This is it. We're 1986 "come here's" and have eaten here at least monthly for that entire time. Kentmorr can accommodate couples to eights in the main room and has a side porch that is also used as local organization dinner seating. Get a small table at the fireplace in winter. There's nothing pretentious about the menu - it's simply a variety of good food served by friendly, courteous staff in an out-of-the way local setting (a precious Shore treasure). Try it; You'll like it !
Review below is from our experience two years ago. Recent visits have put Kentmorr on our 'do not visit' list. Possibly due to a change in ownership, current food emphasis appears to be on ... wait for it ... pizza. Raw oysters have been (a) difficult or (b) impossible to come by lately. Suggest you look elsewhere (particularly given that, it is several miles off main highways). Pleasant (although not outstanding) setting. As good as Chesapeake Bay seafood gets (although not in a class with direct-from-the-seafood shack we've experienced elsewhere). Adequate and varied selection; we recommend ordering a variety of 'small platters' (vs a main dish). Home-made sauces (tartar, shrimp, etc). Service was pleasant, albeit a bit inattentive (although food, once ordered, arrived promptly). Good value for money. Hard to find; not within several miles distant from Stevensville (take a map!).
We had a large party here and everything was fantastic. The service was great, super patient with our big group. I got to try the cream of crab, crab pretzel, crab dip, and tuna sandwich. All were fantastic. Better than Fisherman's Inn (Kent Narrows). Our whole group loved their food and were very impressed. The beach bar, hammocks, and view are a great bonus. Only downside is parking is rather tight. Will come back again.
Fun seafood restaurant / bar / beach with docks but limited parking. They have lots of seafood and a very few vegetarian options (as I often see at seafood restaurants). The hush puppies were decent as was the pizza. The other people seemed to enjoy the seafood. The vibe was energetic with a band out on the beachside patio. The staff was friendly. So if you're looking for a fun seafood / beach experience and in the area, this is a decent place for it.
The food gets good marks - but the 'SERVICE' is unutterably awful! Our 'waiter' was barely coherent, had memory and understanding issues, was beyond inattentive (we had to ask for him 3 times), brought the wrong wine and even argued that the incorrect white wine he had brought was Cabinet Sauvignon! It was almost 2 hours before we received our Entree - and this was entirely due to the waiter, not the kitchen. And yes, as you can guess, two people in the party had ordered Rockfish - they received Salmon. My prime rib was indeed beef and excellent. It was the worst service experience in a not inexpensive restaurant (3 people = $170) that I have ever encountered. If you are able to deal with a level of service that is laughable, have plenty of time on your hands and are prepared to work for your supper ... the Kentmorr Restaurant is a brave choice. In one line: The food was great. Eventually.
