Red Eye's Dock Bar
Reviews
We stopped by the Red Eye's Dock Bar in our boat today. A customer sitting by the dock helped us tie up, not one of the employed dock attendants from the bar. We got tied up which is no small feat considering the current at the narrows. I ordered our drinks at the bar. The bar tender brought my drinks then before ringing me up got involved with a women who wanted her cell phone charged. So instead of finishing up with me she looked all over for a charger for this women's phone. Meanwhile my friend is waiting for me to bring her drink. Strike 1 Then we sat down to listen to the country western band. We decided to stay and listen to the first set and order food. We sat there for about a half hour and I finally grabbed the waitress who had walked past our table at least 10 time. I ordered the 4th of July special, Prime Rib, plain Baked potato and veggies. Another half hour passed and my food finally came. Prime rib, loaded baked potato and no utensils. The waitress saw the potato and grabbed it off my plate in disgust of the mistake but didn't wait long enough to find out that I had no silverware. Strike 2. But the worst offense of all was when I looked over and the dock hands were on my boat moving it down the dock. I ran over to see what what up and they told me it didn't look good and they needed to move it. Turns out they were just making space for another boat. In the process of that they pulled one of my bumpers into the boat and the boat hit under the dock where I had the bumper. They also took one of my dock lines off and used theirs resulting in me leaving the dock line at the dock when I left. Strike 3. I will never go there by boat and possibly never by car either. I was so angry when I left and it ruined an otherwise great day on the water. We should have stayed at the Jetty.
Good time every time I go. Good food music drinks and atmosphere
This place has a lot of potential. The location is close enough to suburban Maryland that it doesn't feel like too much of a trip, and the atmosphere provides some of the beachy feel of Ocean City bars like Seacrets or Fagers. This is where the novelty wears off. I have never seen so many unfriendly service industry people in the same place. I've worked in the industry for 10 years, so I give a certain amount of slack to people...but after you don't acknowledge me for 6 minutes, then greet my group of 4 with "Whadya want?"...I still smiled and ordered our drinks. Apparently, I ruined this bartender's day by asking for a drink, because I was met with an eye roll and a sigh. This was irritating, but we let it go. After the same routine from a different bartender that was even more rude than the first, we decided that the trip to Red Eye was a mistake. I don't know if we were stuck with the bench warmer set of bartenders, but I won't be returning unless someone can assure me that the bartending situation has improved. p.s. - there were 3 bartenders and a barback tending to the outside bar we visited with about 30 people casually sitting at the bar...one person should have been able to handle the volume at that time, but no one was trying. 2 bartenders were alternating between leaning on equipment and sulking aimlessly around the bar, avoiding eye contact with customers. The one guy that seemed to be working was handling the service bar tickets for the surrounding tables, so I wasn't expecting him to break stride to help us. Cheers to that one guy...I'm sorry your coworkers are terrible. p.p.s. - We did eat at one of the server tables before going to the bar, and while the food was not that great and one of our entrees arrived 10 minutes after the others, the server was mostly pleasant.
Food was very good service was not its a shame that i might not come back cause it was just that bad
went at dusk. Was great. sat 2 feet from bay. reasonable prices. $40 to for an app, 1/2 lb steamed shrimp, 3 beers, and 2 mixers. Lights are nice when they come on at night. Server was very attentive. Would have gone back but was only in town for 2 nights.
