Best key lime pie next to my own. Quiche is also very good. Find all the portions to be on the small size though. But the quality is there so you get what you pay for.
As a local that lives nearby, this is a great place. Situated in an old house on the main drag in Solomons, this is exactly what I would be looking for if I showed up by boat or car and wanted a quaint, casual place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The owners buy many of their supplies locally and always have several unique items on the menu. In the summer, the front patio is a great place to look out over the water and people watch. Besides being a neat local place, the food is very fresh and fantastic. Both this and CD Cafe are must eats when in Solomons.
We live in Solomons and frequent many of the local eateries. We have stopped at Kim's half a dozen times for lunch this year and every time it is an experience to remember in quick and casual, yet fresh, well prepared, and balanced dishes. Typically, the side dish of the day, whether a harvest salad or couscous, could stand on its own as a signature dish. Also most memorable were the Roast Beef and Blue sandwich, the Tuna Melt, the Italian sodas, the great coffees, and yes, the Key Lime pies. The breakfast croissants are loaded with fresh eggs and taste rich and delicious and make a decadent Brunch item. The outside tables are sunny or shaded and offer a discrete view of the boardwalk and Patuxent River. Interesting colored lawn chairs demand relaxing if the weather allows.
