Coffee Quarter

I cannot comment on any food, but I can tell you from a position of knowledge that there coffee beans are an abomination. They are so over roasted that they are black and oily. The oils are a significant portion of the multi-layered flavor of good coffee. You want to keep them in the bean. Why would someone purposefully over roast the bean? Just ask Starbucks. It increases the shelf life of the beans to months. The bitter burnt flavor will remain consistent for a long time. Good quality well roasted beans have a shelf life of about two weeks before the flavor profile begins to degenerate. It the same reason that high quality roasters put the roasting date on the bag( of course absent from CQ). If you want coffee with a real tasting profile order yours from Counterculture or Handsome or Stumptown. If you want a local version of Starbucks then CQ is your ticket.
Always good to support a local shop, rather than starbucks or panera, it helps their sandwiches are tasty!
was pretty disappointed that they did not have Dogon Coffee here.
Great Place in Lex Park ... I wish it was open on Sundays too
You just can't go wrong with this place! The sandwiches are excellent, the people are friendly, and the beverages are awesome! The ingredients are high quality and fresh, and the prices are more than reasonable. It's also quite obvious that this is a locally-owned business that cares about its community. If you want a coffee, tea, or sandwich, this is the place to go!
