Brick Ridge

Just had our second meal at Brick Ridge last night, and I believe this may well be the best restaurant in Carroll County. The menu changes frequently and there are always very authentic "state themed" specials that vary, as well as seasonal specials. Last night the bread basket included pumpkin muffins for the season, and venison was among the unique specials we tried - excellent. There's always something different, usually something surprising, and everything is always delicious. I won't go there if I'm in a hurry, as they aren't the speediest joint in town - but who cares? That's not the point here. The ambiance is relaxing, the food is superb, and there's no need to rush. Food this good takes time. As for the prices, they are not low, but they're not oppressive either - expect to spend about $100 for dinner for two. I seriously hope they don't change, as I'd like to remain a regular customer for many years to come!
I love this place. My family and friends have been dining here for the last 4 years. Sunday brunch, after-work dinner, holiday lunch. The food and service is consistently wonderful. They have a great list of wines. A hidden gem in Mt. Airy!
So we figured we check this place out since it was the only restaurant in Mt Airy that we haven't been to. Evening started out great, nice bottle of wine, appetizers were fairly good & there was a guy playing a guitar and singing at the tables, he was comical by the way. I placed my order for the steak, asked for med rare but the waitress suggested that I should not order anything less than med because it would come out tough. Well when the steak finally came out it was med - med well. just what I was trying to avoid. The manager I assume, never introduced himself, came over to the table and agreed that it was a little over cooked & then also stated that as I got closer to the bone he could see that it was med. I personally was looking for med all the way through. They did offer to take it back & get me another one, I declined because we did not want to wait longer for that. Secondly the steak itself had no flavor to it. The mushrooms & onions that covered it did, but not the steak itself. My wife ordered the filet which was cooked right but once again no flavor, like a cheap piece of meat or something that was frozen & then thawed out. When I received the check the waitress took half off on the bottle of wine. Not what I was expecting but they at least tried. I personally would have just taken my meal off the bill If it was up to me. Probably will not be going back!! I'll stick to Dutch's Daughter / Dungeon!!!!
Absolutely wonderful. The hush puppies and pecan crusted salmon were great and everyone at our table was happy. The wine was also very good. It's not cheap or kid-friendly, so if you need that in a restaurant you should pass this place by. But it was perfect for us; a group of adults looking for a good meal in an elegant setting.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! I go every year for my work Christmas party and 2 of the 3 years I've gotten the Pasta Atlantis and LOVED it. That is my go to dish. This year I got Chicken Delmarva. Chicken stuffed with ham and swiss cheese topped with crab meat. It was melt in your mouth amazing. The manager is great. He made a few trips to our table to make sure everything was going well. Our waitress, Stacey, was extremely nice and joked around with our group. I'm going to make sure I start going there more often than once a year.
