Emmitsburg Antique Mall
Reviews
Positives must be from dealers. Went in this week (2/8/2015) and got a good laugh at what people think is saleable merchandise. At least the laughing took my mind off of the musty smell and stained, dirty brown carpet patched with black duct tape. The few antiques that I saw were either mediocre, overpriced, or both. I walked past booth after booth of die cast trucks in blister packs, Hess trucks, Beannie Babies (always a sound investment) and country painted stuff. I found appropriately priced legitimate antique to buy but it was in a showcase and since it was 4:40, they wouldn't open it. I guess they were worried about the rush at the front counter from the three customers who were in the mall. Too bad for the dealer who lost a sale on a Japanese cloisoinne vase. I will come back in another year and get another laugh -- probably at the same stuff!
I love coming here. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. My parents like to go to the auction down the street from this place. If I don't want to stick around for the auction, I come here. It is about a 5 minute walk from Emmitsburg Auction Service. Prices are ehh. Typical Antique Store Prices for most items. I have bought stuff from this one booth here in the past couple of years where everything was always 50-60% off what it had always been priced. But I have not bought anything from here in a long time. A lot of vendors have either moved or left the mall. Even booths with sales tend to not have great items, for me anyway. But they do sell stuff, which is a good thing. I love looking to see what people have here, people add stuff each time I come in. I highly recommend this place.
We always enjoy stopping by this place. We've gotten some great deals there. *No way* is it flea market stuff or a goodwill annex.
No real antiques. All collectables
