Well worth the drive too scottsville , almost a tie with Smokey pig, on the food . They use a thicker cut on the shoulder, . In my opinion, a step up on Smokey pig ,but not a big step up. Both places are good ,but the side here are more of the homemade taste.
From first glance, you may not think much of this place. It is mainly carry out. I ordered the shoulder based on several orders before me. (always trust the locals). Thinking it was pulled I was surprised to see it was sliced thin and dipped in a secret sauce, Then served on white bread. Man you have never had better pork! It is a bit hot, but it is awesome! Now every time I go there I bring it home for the family and it is quickly devoured!
Great carry out BBQ. You want it hot? Dipped is the answer.
