With the exception of the deli, The customer service is horrible. I will never go here again.
For the only large store in more than 20 miles, this store has several issues: 1. The shelves are stocked poorly. At no time should you have a list of sugar, eggs, spaghetti noodles, milk and only be able to leave with half your list. 2. The managers are rude and lazy. When I complained that my above list of 4 items I could only get half of them, I was told that they couldn't staff to stock shelves and I would have to come back after they did stocking for items that were in the back. When I asked them why don't they hire more people, the manager looked at me and told me I obviously don't understand how business works. (I drove the 30 minutes to Edwardsville and shopped somewhere that wanted my business). 3. They have a poor selection of items. I have seen smaller Walmarts with more variety. 4. They pull pallets to stock shelves in the early evening and leave them there until they stock overnight. It is cluttered and makes already narrow spaces even tighter. 5. Finally, they treat their employees poorly. I have seen where a line checker has asked a passing manager if they were going to get their break since it was 2 hours past when they should have taken it. The manager looked at the line checker and told her, "It isn't like you are working full time. You are off in an hour and a half, I will try to get you a break, but if I can't, you will have to deal with it."
Don Robertson was very helpful thanks. Don More was great and thank you very much. in electronics William H. Twyford
Good quality all around, and it is always very clean and well-maintaned. I never find loose items on the floor... even in the toy department around holiday season!!! Usually it's pretty easy to find what I'm looking for, but I'll admit that you do have to get used to the layout the first few times you shop there. Generally products are easy to find once you know where to go (paper towels by baby products, dog food by photo center and electronics). My only comlaint is the fact that if you need help you really have to look around the store to find someone, and you can't expect to get in and out between the hours of 3-8... but you can usually ALWAYS find managers in the customer service area, layaway/returns area, and usually 2-3 guys in electronics. by the way, all of your electronic's associates are awesome. Yeah sometimes they put you on hold for 7 minutes over the phone just to tell you a product is in stock, but otherwise those kids are very eager to boost customer service scores in person!! Even the guys that retrieve carts are willing to help out if they're free, and if there is a "pow-wow" of associates they all stop what they're doing to ask you if you're finding everything alright (electronics and cart guys usually) Bottom-line: Food is on one-side, home goods, toys, hardware, and auto on the other... Everything else is scattered in the middle of the "race-track". If you need assistance, go to customer service or electronics, but if you have to call in then plan on 5 minutes minimum.
Being the only retail for 15 miles you'd think that they would have a wider selection of items... but they don't.. they forced me to buy an Amazon prime membership. I work at the ups store right next to it. So shipping is no issue. I just hate getting computer stuff online. They never have enough cashiers during rush hours. Some staff are just plain rude. They do have a few good employees. But it's rare I see one. I want to have a higher rating for them. But the entire staff needs a refresher on being nice to customers. The layout is also puzzling. Can't find everything even after shopping there for over 9 months. I hope they improve this store.
