PJ's Cafe

I was doing a search on something to do with Potato Chips. I came across an unbelievably mouth watering picture of a dish on PJ's menu. I decided to take a trip with my wife to visit them. I'm glad I did. From the minute we got there we were engaged with the atmosphere. Outside the place, there's a Chef's statue with a lot of character. If you put something like that out front, your food better be awesome. Which it was. I ordered the potato chips dish, my wife ordered an avocado, sprout sandwich. Both of them were so good that we spent time slapping each other's hands away from grabbing what was on each others' plates. All of it was really great. The customer service was fantastic as well. If you're headed anywhere near Stockbridge, Georgia..this would be a great place to stop for lunch or dinner.
We experienced very poor service and the food was very over-priced for what we received. First off, we were one party of 2 people, and the restaurant had approximately 15-20 guests total. It took about 7-10 minutes for us to get seated and be offered drinks. When we finally got our drinks, it took another 7-10 minutes for us to order, and even after that we waited and waited for the complimentary bread to satiate our 2 year old and ourselves. After our food arrived, (Parmesan crusted pork tenderloins, Cheese Manicotti, and Kid's fish sticks) we began eating. The pork tasted great, but was very dry. The manicotti was also good. The fried green tomatoes and the fried cauliflower were both tasteless, and the only real flavor was the ranch dipping sauce. Both of our meals left us hungry when we left the restaurant. The manicotti did not come with any salad, soup, or sides, so we had to pay extra for a side. The pork came with one side. This struck me as odd, because they were not only dinner entrees, but the serving size was VERY small for a $15 dish. As I said, the flavor of the pork was good, aside from how dry it was, but I'm a 130 pound man with a small appetite, and for me to leave hungry is saying a great deal about the serving sizes. After we finished, it was another 10 minutes before we received the check. The waiter seemed to had forgotten about us, because the restaurant was not busy at all, and he seemed to not be in any hurry. I tried to be patient, having spent plenty of time in the food industry, suggesting that perhaps they were understaffed, but after seeing servers walking leisurely back and forth and occasionally stopping to talk, I had lost my empathetic attitude. This restaurant has a pretty face, but I would NOT recommend it to anyone. There are a LOT of things I would change about PJ's Cafe. Never in my entire life have I left a dining experience and stopped at a fast food drive-through because I was still hungry, so tonight is a first. The owner of PJ's should strongly reconsider the message they're sending to their guests. Even I know not to send a neighbor away hungry.
Awesome food. Great ambiance. Nice staff. The grilled chicken sandwich may literally be the best on earth.
Was so excited to eat here Ruben was skimpy
We did not like any of the food choices here. Only went once, and won't go back
