Texas Roadhouse
Reviews
There are not many great steak joints in and around Milton, Fl but Texas Roadhouse is the exception. My family and I visit Texas Roadhouse about twice a month and we have never been disappointed with our dining experience. The wait staff is very young but courteous and well trained. The food quality is always very good and management comes by at every visit to ensure our meal (and service) is up to par. Amazingly, management realizes that we are frequent customers and have even offered our children free ice cream and (on occasion) tokens for a free child's dinner. If I have to make a complaint, I would say they are overly crowded on a Friday night. They have an option called "call ahead seating" but it is almost pointless. Other than the one complaint, the Texas Roadhouse in Milton, Fl is a great dining experience.
Large restaurant with even bigger plates of food! You will scarf down the fresh baked rolls and pass the time by eating some of the peanuts at the table. The floor is usually covered with peanut shells, but that's what Texas Roadhouse is known for! Instead of having you keep all of the shells on the table, they allow you to eat from the bucket of peanuts and throw the shells on the floor as you eat away. The menu is quite extensive and will have you in a pickle going back and forth trying to decide what to have this time(you'll be back for more). The best place for a relaxed, fancy dinner!
It was fairly crowded when we went in, though there were some empty booths and tables, but for some reason, we were seated next to a family (or 2?) that filled 3 booths, with the adults in one. I didn't pay attention to this at the time. I like children just fine, and there were many around us who were well mannered, but these kids were the worst! Throughout our meal, they kept kicking the back of my booth, throwing food at each other, lying down on the seats, running around, etc., their parents apparently oblivious--or more likely, didn't have manners enough themselves to care about other diners . The ribeyes were mediocre to say the least. Mine was med rare instead of med well, which I ordered. The server was nice enough, but she couldn't seem to remember what I was drinking, brought me the wrong thing, and then I had to wait another 10 min before I could flag her back over to the table. At the end, the general manager (I'm told) came over and asked about our dining experience, and before I could finish a sentence in response, she--obviously refusing to listen to a less than satisfactory reply--snapped, "Well, thanks for coming in." Then she spun around and began to fawn all over those kids from hell. Now, I know it's called a roadhouse...I don't expect silence or gourmet food, but I do expect to be seated away from 8 or 9 bratty kids whose parents could care less. I do expect to be treated like the paying customer. And I most certainly do expect a manager to be at least a little interested in making the situation better--or if not that one, then a future one. Needless to say, there won't be a future one.
