Billy's Stone Crab Restaurant & Market
Reviews

We had seven people at my Birthday party last night at Billy’s Stone Crabs. It was excellent dinner, great atmosphere and wonderful staff. I had all you can eat stone crabs. All of my guests commented on how great their meals were. The Wine was excellent, margarita’s were killers. The deserts were delicious, in fact, I ordered an extra two and took them home with me. My compliments to Brian, the Maître d’, Michael, our server, and Diane our bartender, thank you for a wonderful experience.

The service at Billy's is typical of steak and seafood houses: suit-wearing & snobby/assuming. The seafood was fresh. The lobster tails were spiny (hard to get up north) and generously stuffed with good, shredded crab meat. The alligator bits had big pieces of meat in them, but were too chewy and the oil (from the fryer) tasted a bit rancid, we didn't eat most of it. The star of the show there, of course, is the stone crab. We were excited to try their colossal size, unfortunately they were out of them -- a big miss for Billy's. We got the next size down, jumbo (also available: large, medium, and small). They were absolutely delicious. An incredible amount of meat. The decor was mediocre, but at least over-looking water. Note to families: the snooty host (who I listened as he was a jerk to most patrons and people on the phone) won't sit families near the window. Even though I asked, and I saw him sit other families in the least desirable spots. The food was quite expensive, but again, it was generous seafood. The layout is confusing, I spent a while in the entry-way and watched as EVERY SINGLE guest was confused about where the dining room is (hint: take the non-obvious elevator, to the right, upstairs to second floor). They also have some outdoor seating in interesting swinging cabins. Finally, when it came time to leave, it took over 15 minutes to get our car. Standing amongst huffing and puffing people all annoyed by the slow valet. Not a fun way to end the evening. tl;dr: Decent shellfish; expensive; won't be back

Best stone crabs ever. 5 gigantic claws for $100. Can't beat it !!!

the stone crab claws with the yellow sauce are absolutely amazing. probably one of my favorite sea food spots in the area. highly recommended.

Wife and I had dinner here recently. Excellent service and stone crabs and king crab . Will be back on next vacation in Hollywood!
