This is a great restaurant on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. It has a wonderful ambiance and the food and drinks are excellent. The oysters are very fresh. On Saturday afternoons is is slower and they have live music. Definitely try the calamari.
I'm not sure what happened with that lady and her father in that other review that was too weird for me. It is true that the service is slow but not bad. The pan fried snapper portion has gotten smaller were my wife notice and told me. We there on 10/20 and we'll come back soon. If you're on the line about going there my advise is to yes go and judge for yourself.
My favorite place for happy hour on a Friday night. Great ambience and super friendly staff. Love the music and food even more. Who can say no to 2 for 1 happy hour! Love this place!!!
Hope never to enter this establishment so long as I live. I went to this place Friday July 25 2014 it was very packed but the service was awful I have never waited 45 minutes to be served standing at the bar I have been to many bars in my life and worked in a few. This was the worst service I have ever received I had to ask a bus boy to get the attention of the bartender who must have been blind. There are many better places in coral gables to get a drink try John Martins or The Bar.
I went to Tarpon Bend on Friday March 7, 2014. We went to celebrate a close family friends promotion. The night started out great, our waitress Alison was amazing. We were sat in one of the booths all the way towards the back of the restaurant. Later in the evening I was standing next to my father when two guys passed by the walk way in front of our table, one of them asked my dad a question, the guy was a heavy man dressed in a suit. After they finished speaking they shook hands, the guy hugged my father, and offered to buy him a drink. My dad said no. less than 30 minutes later a police officer escorted my dad out claiming the guy who had just offered my father a drink, said my father touched our waitress. Our waitress Alison, immediately went outside, and clarified that it was NOT true, he never laid a finger on her. He was still not let back in. I spoke with the officer who escorted my dad out, and asked him who the manager was to clear this up, we still had our tabs open, along with food and drinks on our table. He informed me this man in the suit is a BIG MONEY SPENDER, and a regular at this restaurant (so pretty much what he says goes). He advised me that the waitress cleared everything up but the manger does not want my dad back in the restaurant. Eventually I was able to speak with one of the floor managers Andrew, (Alison came outside with me to confirm again, that my father did not touch her) and he explained to me that, that was not why my father was escorted out. What he was told by the man in the suit was that my father grabbed him by the neck TWICE, and that he has 4 witnesses. I clearly told him i have over 10 people with our party who saw the whole encounter, and can confirm it was not true. I explained detail per detail what happened, and all I got from him was "Here is my card, next time you come in please let me show you were about having a good time." I will never recommend this place to any one nor will I go back. It is not right that just because some one has a "status" some where they are able to ruin our night just because it was our first time there. I guess you can go to this place if your alright with some one randomly accusing you of something, and getting away with it since they spend more money than you do. Never have I ever been treated like this, I can say McDonald's has better customer service than what I got.
