Skied at Sierra-at-Tahoe on Jan 18-19 with two kids. I was very disappointed with quality of trails. Some trails marked as "groomed" on web site ( e.g. like Lower Main) was actually ice bumps, not even close to "groomed" conditions. Others (like Hemlock) were groomed some time ago, but had melted and frozen since; it was hard ice almost concrete at time I tried to ski there with my kids. Nobody even tried to make it usable for average skier. At the time we were there out of 24 trails mentioned as "groomed" on web site only two trail were in appropriate condition - Sugar n' Spice and Broadway. And most of people skied there. You can imagine the density. I understand that groomed snow melts much faster. But I believe it is totally not acceptable to mislead visitors in such way. It looks like Sierra-at-Tahoe value own profit mach higher than safety and experience of it's guests.

Once a year The Nayborhood crew embarks on a trip to Sierra to taste of the good weather, good vibes, and great terrain. The park is always on point, and the features are set up proper. Although we are native to Idaho, we meet new friends every time we go. Great atmosphere and two thumbs up!

I have been here twice, enjoyed the runs though tried only the easiest ones. Good vegetarian food options in their concessions, though lines are long during the meal times.

A great place for beginners. Our instructors were expert -- really helpful and friendly, coaching you along. My daughter wasn't even in a lesson, and they would call her by name cheering her on.

Sierra at Tahoe is my favorite resort. It is 40 minutes to an hour away from my house outside of Placerville. I always go on the weekdays because 1) it is never full 2) I spend more time on the runs than I do on the lifts and 3) there is always parking. There are multiple different runs for beginners to advanced snowboarders and skiers. Everyone is always friendly there and this past year was my 8th year buying a season pass. I have always been able to go 20-45 times throughout the season and pay off my pass. So I think it is extremely worth it if you go that route. People complain about expensive lift tickets, but why would you spend all that money to buy a lift ticket if you are only going to go up a couple times throughout the season. NOT WORTH IT. I always found time after a huge storm to make my way up there after school in the morning. I have no complaints about Sierra because they are the best ski resort in Northern Cali.
